Gond art is one of the most lively and complicated folk and tribal arts originating from India and widely appreciated by art lovers. Being an art teacher it is always exciting for me to expose young learner beginning from the age of eight years and above to Gond folk art. This art class extends to art just painting but engages young children within themes of artistic beauties of Gond Motifs and Paintings.
What is Gond Art?
Gond art is a form of painting art of uniquely originated from the Gond tribes of the Madhya Pradesh in central India and is mainly on folk art, which as relates to stories from folklore, natural and daily aspects of life. Out of all the folk ornaments, this art form draws on earthy colors, dots, and lines and brings to the motifs characteristics of stencils. Gond paintings were used in the interiors of houses in the form of painting but today they are believed to be painting of great cultural significance and aesthetic sense which are appreciated globally.
Objectives of the Gond Art Class for Kids
This is a class for young children through which they will obtain basic knowledge of the Indian folk art with the background of Gond art, Gond motifs and Gond painting.. The goal is to help them develop creativity and be patient and guide them on how from a simple shape you can come up with this creative masterpiece.

3. Master Dotting and Pattern Techniques: Gond art is renowned for its dotting, hatching, and intricate pattern work. Kids will practice these techniques, gaining confidence as they transform dots and lines into expressive Gond paintings.
4. Engage with the Indian Knowledge System of Traditional Folk Arts: Gond art paper provides information on the concept of the Indian knowledge system, in retaining art as equally informative as communicative means through which children can connect to Indian culture.

In our class, primary objectives are to introduce students to Folk and tribal base art and the development of artistic skills necessary in future projects. In every dot, line, and pattern kids unleash the artist within them – Yes, little artists at work!
