In our sketching class, the young artists learn basic skills of drawing starting with the concepts of light and shade to that of texture and perspective. This class develops their ability to make observations, improves dexterity and hand-eye coordination as well as loving art. Subsequently, students apply and develop technical skills in pencil sketching and drawing, shading to produce unique realistic works of art.
Class Objectives: Pencil Sketching Class
As a teacher of art, I have it as a target to provide kids with one of the best environment in order to learn the relevant skills of sketching.Teaching Light and Shadow – An important concept when it comes to making an object look more realistic is teaching the of light and shadow on drawing.kills. This class is designed to give students confidence in their abilities and a love for sketching by:
1. Teaching Light and Shadow – Understanding how to use light and shadow is fundamental to adding depth and form to drawings. Kids will learn how shading techniques can make objects look realistic and three-dimensional.
2. Exploring Textures – From rough wood to shiny glass, learning to recreate textures in pencil sketching helps students bring variety and realism to their art.
3. Introducing Perspective Drawing – Perspective drawing helps children understand spatial relationships, adding depth and realism to their work. Students will gain a foundational understanding of how to make objects appear closer or farther away in their sketches.
4. Practicing Still Life Sketching – Still-life drawing is an excellent way for kids to observe real-life objects and practice proportions, accuracy, and shading techniques.

Expected Outcomes: What Will Kids Achieve in This Sketching Class?
• Pencil Sketching Confidence – Children will go home with skills and confidence in drawing of pencil illustrations.
• Mobile Art – This is where children improve on mobile creation skills and learn basic shading techniques that give depth and form to art.
• Building a-texture – Whether a rough wooden grain, polished metal, or glass, a student will be able to master observation and emulation of different textures on objects to add depth to the sketches.
• Learn the Basics of Perspective – This means that, at the end of the teaching process, students will be able to make sketches which appear to have three dimensions.
• Enhance Observational Skills – Practice makes perfect when it comes to observing shapes, light, shadow and texture and the earlier a child is instilled in this practice the better for him / her.Master Basic Shading Techniques – Through practice, children will learn how to apply shading techniques that give depth and form to their art.
• Replicate Real-Life Textures – From wood and metal to glass, students will learn how to observe and replicate various textures, bringing life to their sketches.
• Understand Perspective Drawing – Students will grasp the basics of perspective, allowing them to make their sketches look three-dimensional and realistic.
• Improve Observation Skills – Learning to look closely at shapes, light, shadow, and texture sharpens kids’ observational abilities, a skill that translates to all areas of life.
